The Norwegian group a-ha had it's international start in 1985 with the worldwide single hit "Take On Me". After the first release of "Take On Me" flopped it was rereleased later together with an award winning music video (Have a look on pictures from the video). The "Take On Me" video is still in the people's memory as recent no. 1 position in a VH-1 chart for the 80ies best video showed. Including the no. 1 single a-ha released their first album "Hunting High And Low" which included several other successfull singles like "Hunting High And Low" and "The Sun Always Shines On TV". The 1986 follow up album "Scoundrel Days" was also a big success. It featured the singles "Cry Wolf" and "I've Been Losing You".

In 1987 a-ha did titletrack to the Bond movie The Living Daylights. The song was a composed by Pal Waaktaar of a-ha and John Barry. It was also included on aha's 1988 album "Stay On These Roads".

In 1990 a-ha released their fourth album "East Of The Sun West Of The Moon". It included the song "Crying In The Rain" which was very successfull in Europe. In 1991 the album "Headlines and Deadlines - The Hits of a-ha" comprised the best songs of a-ha up to 1990 and also included a new song called "Move To Memphis". In 1993 "Memorial Beach" album was released before in 1994 "Shapes That Go Together" - a song for the Paraolymics in Lillehammer - marked the split of a-ha.

In 1998 a-ha reunited and performed 2 songs including a new one at the Peace Nobel Price concert in Oslo. Both songs ("Summer moved on" and "The Sun Always Shines On TV") have been available as mp3 files by internet from several sources although this has been declared to be illegal by a-ha's management. In 2000 a-ha went back into business with their new album titled "Minor Earth, Major Sky". It was released end of april in most of Europe (except of GB which followed in June 2002). The album was an impressive comeback hitting the top spot of the sale charts in Germany and Norway and getting high top ten positions in Switzerland and Austria. "Minor Earth, Major Sky" was also released in Asia. In November 2000 a-ha started their "Minor Earth, Major Sky" tour taking place in Japan and Germany (and some other locations). At least at some of the tour locations a-ha performed "The Living Daylights" including a musical quote of the James Bond Theme.

In April 2002 the next album titled "Lifelines" was released. It directly hit the top chart position in Germany and went Gold within a few weeks. On June 08, 2002 a-ha started their "Liflelines" world tour in their home country Norway. It brings a-ha to Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Belegium, France, Great Britain, Russia, Brasilia, Germany, Switzerland, Spain and many more countries.
